Changeling

Keyword abilities

This object is every creature type — in every zone, all the time.

How it works

Changeling means the object has every creature type: Elf, Goblin, Sliver, Dragon, all of them. A changeling creature gets the bonus from every typal lord on your side and counts for every "Wizards you control" or "reveal a Goblin" clause.

It's a characteristic-defining ability, so it works in every zone, not just on the battlefield — a changeling card in your hand, library or graveyard is every creature type too.

Common confusions

“Does it count in my hand or library?”

Yes. Changeling works in all zones, so a changeling satisfies "search for a Dragon card", "reveal an Elf from your hand", and a changeling creature spell is every type while it's on the stack.

“Is it every card type too?”

No — only creature types. A noncreature card with changeling (Nameless Inversion is a Kindred instant) has every creature type but is still not a creature.

“Does it "share a creature type" with everything?”

With every creature that has at least one creature type. A face-down creature has none, so it shares nothing — even with a changeling.
