Mauldron for the web and Mauldron for iOS

Mauldron is a Magic: The Gathering Commander toolkit — deck building, deck analysis, collection tracking, and a life counter for the table. The iOS life counter and the website share one account: games you track on your phone show up in your history on the site, and the decks and saved players you set up on the site are available on your phone.

Email [email protected]. It's a one-person hobby project, so replies aren't instant, but every message is read. It helps if you include what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead — plus your device and app version if you're writing about the phone app.

Account

Creating an account — accounts are created on the website at mauldron.com/register. The iOS app signs in with that same email and password; it doesn't create accounts of its own.
Forgotten password — use password reset. The link arrives by email. Changing your password signs out every phone and tablet, which is what you want if you've lost a device.
Signing out one device — sign out inside the app. That retires only that device's access; your other devices and your web session keep working.
Deleting your account — you can do this yourself, permanently, in either place: in the app, or on the website under Account settings. It asks for your password and your email address as confirmation, because it cannot be undone. Deleting removes your decks, collections, saved players, messages and game history.
A copy of your data — Account settings has an export.

The life counter

It works without a signal. The app is built to run a whole game with no connection — that's the normal case in a lot of game shops. Your taps are kept on the device and sent up when you're back online.
A game I played offline is missing from my history. It uploads the next time the app has both a connection and a signed-in account. A game played before you signed in can still be uploaded afterwards.
My playgroup is on one table and one wifi. That's the expected setup and it's fine — several players on the same network each get their own budget.
Everyone at the table seeing the same game needs the game attached to a pod that you're all members of. Otherwise the game belongs to whoever started it, and that's the device to run the counter on.
Life totals can go negative, and counters are unlimited. That's on purpose — the app tracks what happened rather than refereeing it. Poison stops at zero.

Card data

Card names, images, rulings and prices come from Scryfall and refresh nightly, so a very new set can take a day to appear and prices are a recent snapshot rather than a live quote. If a card looks wrong, tell us which one — that's usually a data issue we can fix.

Something is broken

If a page or screen is failing, email [email protected] with the address of the page (or the screen you were on), roughly when it happened, and what you saw. If you'd rather not send details by email, just say so and we'll work out what's wrong from your account's recent activity.
